Beyond the Office
Living the Values We Share
When we're not meeting with clients or building financial plans, you'll often find our team coaching youth sports, hiking Colorado trails, volunteering with local organizations, attending industry conferences, supporting charitable causes, or simply spending time with family and friends. These experiences remind us why financial planning matters: creating the freedom and confidence to live a meaningful life.
Team Bonding at Ball Arena
Thanks to the generosity of our leadership, a suite at Ball Arena during a Colorado Avalanche game provided a great opportunity to connect outside the office, strengthen relationships, and enjoy time together in a fun and relaxed setting.
Reaching New Heights
Our team member Hillary, and her sister, Megan, recently completed an 11-day trek to Everest Base Camp. Reaching elevations of more than 18,000 feet, they faced challenging conditions, breathtaking landscapes, and the physical and mental demands that come with one of the world's most iconic adventures.
Connections That Strengthen Our Community
We had the opportunity to connect with our neighboring businesses to celebrate the U.S. Air Force Academy Graduation and watch the incredible Thunderbirds Flyover. It was a great opportunity to honor the achievements of the graduating cadets while strengthening the relationships that make our business community so special.
Growth Through Learning
The financial world is constantly evolving, and so are we. Our team regularly attends educational conferences, leadership events, and professional development opportunities to stay informed and bring fresh perspectives back to our clients.
Continuous learning helps us better serve the individuals and families who trust us with their financial lives.
Commonwealth Summit for Women 2026
Janet and Hillary attended Commonwealth’s Summit for Women in Ojai, California, where they joined an inspiring community of women advisors for three days of learning, collaboration, and professional growth. Featuring keynote speaker Academy Award-winning actor and advocate Geena Davis, the event provided fresh perspectives and valuable insights that they look forward to bringing back to better serve our clients and community.
Bringing Back Fresh Ideas from Waltham
Hillary and Leslie visited Commonwealth’s new headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts, where they connected with colleagues, exchanged ideas, and explored the new office space. The trip provided valuable opportunities for collaboration, learning, and relationship-building, while reinforcing the strong partnerships that help us better serve our clients.
Making a Meaningful Impact in Our Community
We believe financial success can create opportunities not only for personal goals, but also for giving back to the people and organizations that make our communities stronger. Charitable giving reflects who we are—not only as advisors, but as individuals and as a business committed to supporting the communities around us. We’re passionate about helping clients align their financial resources with the causes and values that matter most to them, while also leading by example throughour own involvement, service, and giving initiatives.
Hunt Family Housing, Catholic Charities of Central Colorado
In 2025, Motivus established a new tradition of directing funds typically spent on holiday gifts toward an annual charitable contribution benefiting a local organization. For our inaugural year, we were honored to support Catholic Charities, specifically the Hunt Family Housing program, which provides critical support and housing resources for individuals and families in need.
The Hunt Family Housing project is dedicated to strengthening community and family stability by expanding access to safe, transitional housing for low-income and vulnerable families. By providing stable housing, families are better positioned to focus on other important aspects of long-term stability, including employment, health, financial well-being, and creating a strong foundation for their families to thrive.
Annual Hawk Charity Golf Tournament
The annual Hawk charity golf tournament was another tremendous success, bringing together 20 teams for a day of competition, camaraderie, and giving back. The event raises funds to support the Colorado Mesa University Men’s Basketball program as well as the memorial scholarship established in honor of Hillary’s father, a standout Mesa basketball player in the 1980s who passed away from colon cancer in 2018. His legacy continues to make a lasting impact by helping future students and athletes pursue their educational goals. This year’s tournament featured strong participation from the community, including three teams from Motivus Wealth. Chris’s team delivered an impressive performance, finishing in 2nd place behind the perennial champions who seem to win every year. Kevin and Hillary’s team secured a respectable 5th-place finish, while Janet’s team battled hard and finished tied for 10th. Overall, the tournament was a wonderful way to honor a beloved Mesa athlete, raise meaningful funds, and bring supporters together for a great cause.
